Καλά, το άρθρο δεν λέει ότι έκλεισε η συμφωνία ε. Λέει ότι "That doesn’t mean the Tolkien Estate will move toward making the rights to “Beren And Luthien” available but it does mean my wish to produce “The Silmarillion” as HBO series is slightly less impossible than it was before. That is what has changed really. Things once impossible are now possible." Και αν θυμάμαι καλά, το Σιλμαρίλλιον είναι τόσο τερατώδες χαοτικό και τόσο μισοτελειωμένο (δεν ξέρω αν ο Κρίς κατάφερε τελικά να το τελειώσει απο τις επιστολές του πατέρα του), που αν εμπλακεί το HBO και προσπαθήσει να κάνει καμία πατάτα της φάσης του GoT, με τον Μάρτιν να ζεί και να γράφει/δίνει τις συμβουλές του για ότι παπάρες θέλει το κανάλι, γιατί, κακά τα ψέμματα, όσο ωραίο και να είναι το GoT, αν του δώσεις τα χρόνια ζωής του Middle Earth, δεν ξέρουμε αν θα το θυμάται και τόσος κόσμος μετά απο 30-50-70 χρόνια.
Χοντρικά, το Tolkien Estate δεν έχει ανάγκη και τόσο τα χρήματα με αυτόν τον κολλοσό στις πλάτες του και με επιστολές/συγγράμματα τα οποία μπορούν αν αντέξουν άλλα τόσα χρόνια, και σε σύγκρισή με τον Αμερικανό Μάρτιν, που ναι, οκέι, ξεκίνησε σαν καθηγητής, και και και, αλλά δεν έχει πιάσει με την καμία την μεγαλειότητα του Τόλκιν (το αντίθετο μάλλιστα, κυνδυνεύει να γίνει pulp λογοτεχνία) ο οποίος προσπαθεί να βγάλει 9 σεζόν και να ξεζουμίσει το όλο θέμα.
Θα μου πείς "ξεζουμίστηκε το όλο θέμα με τις ταινίες, LotR και Hobbit", αλλά η άδεια γι'αυτά τα δύο ήταν ακριβώς αυτό, άδεια για ταινίες, όχι για σειρές.

Βγάζουμε από το μυαλό μας το Σιλμαρίλιον και προσπαθούμε να δούμε μια άσχετη σειρά με κάποια γνωστά ονόματα. Δε ξέρω, τα πρώτα 2 επεισόδια τα βρήκα τραγικά.....

δεν έχω διαβάσει το σιλμαρίλιον, βασικά τίποτα από τόλκιεν.
δεν καταλαβαίνω τόση χολή για τη σειρά. τέρμα αμερικανιά και προβλέψιμο όσο δεν πάει, αλλά καλή παραγωγή και μερικά εντυπωσιακά τοπία. ό,τι πρέπει για ξεκούραση μετά από ένα κουραστικό 10ωρο εργασίας.
