REVIEW BY FORGOTTEN SCROLL FOR ASTRONOMIKON DEMO
Astronomikon - Dark Gorgon Rising - Self Financed - 2010 [ CD ]
Here we have the first demo of a new heavy metal band from Cyprus. The leader of the band is the bassist of Arryan Path, Paris Lamprou. In this new group the singer is Nicolas Leptos the singer of Arryan Path. The demo contains three songs: “Dark Gorgon”, “Rocka Rolla Sword” and “Dramatis Personae”. The demo has quite good production but the songs will be re-recorded again for the band’s debut album. The band will record in Germany with Vagelis Maranis, the singer of Sanvoisen which also appeared as guest on the second album of Arryan Path. The demo is in printed CD and it is released in 65 copies and as far as I know a few of them are still available.
The band’s style is heavy metal and the structure of the songs is simpler from the classical style of Arryan Path (I am saying that because in their second album they adopted a more straight heavy metal direction). I really liked the three songs, maybe “Rocka Rolla Sword” a bit more. So the fans of the classic metal sound should contact with the band in order to buy it.
