Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor is developing a new TV series for HBO called Year Zero. The new series is described as a grim and dark sci-fi epic that Reznor's chronicled in his music. He also wants to use Steven Spielberg's Alternate Reality Game from the movie A.I. for inspiration, the game was created by 42 Entertainment.
Reznor is working with producer Lawernce Bender on the project. This is the same producer that's worked on films such as Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, Reservoir Dogs, An Inconvenient Truth and a few other projects. It was also revealed that they brought on Carnivale writer Daniel Knauf to write for the new series. Carnivale was a great series that we will never get closure on!

Αρονόφσκι με τις ευλογίες του Preacher;
Τελικά από εδώ το πάει, από εκεί το πάει, ο Αρονόφσκι φαίνεται αποφασισμένος να σκηνοθετήσει κόμικ. Πρώτα περιτριγύριζε το δεύτερο "Γούλβεριν", μετά ήρθε το φλερτ του με το Σούπερμαν, που ακόμα βρίσκεται σε εκκρεμότητα και τώρα ακόμα μια μεταφορά, αυτή του «Preacher», του σκοτεινού και ... ανίερου κόμικ, διά χειρός Γκαρθ Ένις και Στιβ Ντίλον, βγαίνει μπροστά με το όνομά του ως επικρατέστερο για τη σκηνοθετική καρέκλα. Όποιος έχει μπει λίγο στο σύμπαν του Preacher, υποψιάζεται ότι ο φακός του Αρονόσφκι πάνω σε στο ανατρεπτικό, βλάσφημο και καλτ προφίλ του κεντρικού ήρωα και της γραφής του Ένις μάλλον θα κάνει καλή δουλειά.
Και για να θυμηθούμε τους «μνηστήρες» της κινηματογραφικής εκδοχής του αιδεσιμότατου (στο τραπέζι είχε πέσει και η πρόταση για τηλεοπτική μεταφορά) ο Σαμ Μέντες είχε κάποτε κάνει κρούση, αλλά μετά την απόσυρση του ενδιαφέροντος μόνο το όνομα του Τζο Κάρναχαν (Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team) φαίνεται να «παίζει». Αν βέβαια ο Αρονόφσκι ενδιαφέρεται σοβαρά για το πρότζεκτ και είναι διαθέσιμος για γυρίσματα μέσα στο 2011 δε χρειάζεται να αναρωτηθούμε για το ποιος θα επικρατήσει. Κρατήστε ότι το σενάριο υπογράφει η πένα του "Big Fish", Τζον Όγκουστ, ενώ για το καστ οι παραγωγοί θα πρέπει να ψάξουν ανάμεσα στους πιο αθεόφοβους, που θα αψηφήσουν τις πουριτανικές φωνές της Αμερικής και όχι μόνο.

Oh, and they’re getting a little help from—stop me if you’ve heard of this guy—Damon Freakin’ Lindelof!
Here’s what I know right this second…
Kitsis and Horowitz are getting ready to pitch the project to ABC Studios, where the two currently have an overall deal. If it gets a green light, Lindelof—who also has a deal at ABC—will serve as a consultant.
So what is this thing? Good question. The only additional intel I’ve been able to glean from my sources is that it will have a female lead. (Paging Sarah Michelle Gellar… )
Based on the pedigree alone, I’m going to declare it the breakout hit of the 2011-12 TV season.

Firefly leading man Nathan Fillion has urged fans to support him in his bid to headline the film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
Few actors command geek heartstrings in the way that Nathan Fillion does. He was the star of the beloved Firefly, and the antagonists of the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. He was Sgt. Buck in Halo 3: ODST, and he’s been rumored to be the front-runner for the role of Ant-Man in the Avengers movie. Now, he may have the chance to add yet another “geeky” role to his credits: Nathan Drake, the charming leading man of Naughty Dog’s popular Uncharted games.
This past weekend, it was announced that David O. Russell – having jumped ship from the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies film adaptation – had signed on to direct the game-to-movie conversion of Naughty Dog’s 2007 hit Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. When he learned the news, Fillion sounded the call to arms via Twitter:
“If ever there was a Twitter campaign, let this be it. Rise, ye Browncoats. Rise, ye Castillions. RISE! http://j.mp/aEGe79″
In other words, Nathan Fillion wants to play Nathan Drake, and he wants his Firefly and Castle devotees to lobby Columbia Pictures to cast him in the role.
I am completely in favor of this. As seen in Captain Mal Reynolds, Fillion has the Indiana Jones/Han Solo/John McClane/Tintin act down cold. Sure, he might not sound like the Nate Drake we all know and love, but eh, maybe they can just get Nolan North to do the dub voicing. That they share the same first name – double Nathan all the way, across the sky! – is just extra icing on this particularly sweet cake.
