Murphies come from the Greek Island of Corfu.Their music has been influenced by several genres, such as post-punk, garage, indie, as well as by alternative bands and artists of the past decades.It all started in the first months of 2013 when Sofia Stavrou and Aris Boοyook started jamming, shortly after they met. Sharing a common sense of music they started working on some of the songs of the band that would come to be Murphies. In March 2014 they met Aristotelis Krokidis and Pirros Mangos, working as DJs back then, at Polytechno Corfu which is till today the meeting place for the local music and art community on the island. These four people founded Murphies and they have been composing, rehearsing and playing gigs ever since.Their debut album sums up their story, their friendship over the years, and their love for music.
