[Dragonlord]

DISSECTION guitarist/vocalist Jon Nodtvedt and drummer Bard "Faust" Eithun (ex-EMPEROR) have spent the past few weeks looking through the audition videos that have been sent to them from all over the world. In the beginning of next year, real auditions will be held for some of the musicians needed to complete the group's lineup. It is, however, not too late for interested musicians to send in their tapes.

In other news, plans exist for a DISSECTION documentary to be filmed over the course of the next year. Starting in the prison, it will follow the group through bandmember auditions, Jon's release from prison, the recording of the next album, and will include footage from their comeback tour in December 2004.

The tour will reportedly be "something out of the ordinary," with shows around two hours long and containing only old material — more or less every song from the first two albums, "The Somberlain" and "Storm Of The Light's Bane".

Former EMPEROR drummer Bard "Faust" Eithun has officially parted ways with DISSECTION. According to an official press release, Eithun made the decision after a meeting with DISSECTION guitarist/vocalist Jon Nodtvedt in Stockholm, Sweden. Bard "explained that he has been tense about what impression the whole deal with DISSECTION would do to him in practice and that he has come to the conclusion that he can't stand behind and live up to the demands of DISSECTION's Satanic concept, with the inevitable result that he has to leave the band. A decision Faust and Jon made in mutual agreement after discussing the problem."

"There are only two alternatives for us: doing DISSECTION wholeheartedly and with complete devotion, or not at all," explained Jon.

"My relation to DISSECTION is simply musical," Faust said. "The problem occurs when the band takes form more as a cult where there are rules for behaviors and strict codes." Faust also stated that he didn't realize how strong the Satanic influence on DISSECTION actually was.

Jon explained that he has tried to be as clear as possible when emphasizing the concept of DISSECTION to Faust. "Faust should definitely have realized from the start what we were about. DISSECTION is a Satanic band, period."

"I don't ask from anyone to be anything else than himself", Jon continued, "but if a member of the band isn't capable of living up to the ideology and giving the band his full and wholehearted dedication, then I see no other option than us going separate ways, really. I can only show Faust my appreciation for being open and honest about it at an early stage, because now we can go on and look for someone who is right for the band before we record our forthcoming album. I further wish Faust the best of luck for the future."

As a result of Faust's departure, DISSECTION are currently without a permanent drummer. Jon concluded: "We are right now looking for someone who is just right for the band, musically and ideologically."
