Simulation FPS me RPG twists se styl Morrowwind (k Daggerfall)

It is now for the second time that the black Chernobyl erupted to open a Zone - a new horror of ill mankind. It was at that moment that hundreds of people turned into wordless toys of invisible forces, into insane toys with erased personalities. And there were futile attempts of the army to cope with the new disease of the planet, at least to prevent its development and spread, but to no avail. The Zone grew bigger. Only rarely people dared to set off for the Zone to find out, to procure evidence of weird and uncanny changes around Chernobyl Atomic Plant. Only a handful returned, bringing strange objects and stories of deadly traps and eerie animal mutants, they found out of somebody inside controlling the evolution of humanity, forcing it to leap towards unknown final. They became stalkers, those who leave for the changing world of the Zone to explore it and find artefacts, those who cross the Zone of immense territory covered with ulcers of black lakes, scorched earth, poisonous fogs, deadly anomalous zones, populated by sapient pseudo-animal mutants...

http://www.stalker-game.com/index_eng.html

The trailer shows an extract of one of the many variants of mission types from the game. The DX9 renderer is shown in all its beauty (although in the future we will show this functioning in full outdoors and in daytime). Lighting is all dynamic – even each blade of grass casts a shadow from any light source.

Combat AI is demonstrated - team actions, accurate reactions from the sounds of characters other beings, accurate reactions from the grenades as well as the AI ability to evade gun-fire and grenades, camping skills as well as ambush and group attack. We also show an example of one of the many types of anomaly that are randomly generated across the zone. This helps the gamer to understand the gameplay opportunities that they are afforded due to the nature of the anomaly, both in terms of detection and avoidance for their own survival, but also such as luring enemies into these energy disturbances for their own destruction., as well as the ultimate function of the anomaly which is to generate artefacts – the lifeblood of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The anomaly shown in the trailer is a heat anomaly – a whirling area of air tearing everything to bits.

Finally, a note on the blood sequences. As you can see when the characters take a few serious hits they leave a trail of blood. As they attempt to flee from their pursuant this trail allows gamers to track them – a note of caution to anyone who thinks they've escaped!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Comic Soon - Game Not So

"Hailed as the game that will change the way we enjoy first person shooters, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was the talk of E3; almost two years ago. Having tried the game and enjoyed its online capabilities in 2003, we have to admit that the delays have annoyed us since the game looked the bidness back then.

The game that many claim was created to make Half-Life 2s launch timing look good; is back in the news. Showing a distinct lack of PR skills but perfect comedy timing, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. creators, GSC Game World have announced that the official book based on the game will soon be available. To add insult to injury, the press release mentions an interesting fact about the book... On the 16th of November the German-speaking community can happily browse their local book stores in search of the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. artefact... So it's not even in English.

In another wondrous display of comedic timing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. project manager, Anton Bolshakov commented, It's great to realize that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. enters our lives not only on PC, but also on our bookshelves. Note the intriguing choice of tense, which may however, be attributed to the gentleman's Russian background, what cannot be explained however, is the next phrase...It is amazing that we can bring across the ideas, concept and story behind the game before its release as this will definitely help players understand S.T.A.L.K.E.R. better. So German players are considered specially challenged in some way and require a book about the game? I respectfully disagree, U.S. and the rest of the world's gamers are equally challenged and also require any help they can get.

Well since the delays to the game are so frequent we can only hope that the book's publishers, Panini Books, are given enough time to cater to the inadequacies of all of the world's gamers.

According to today's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. release date guesstimates, the promising PC title will be released either on the 1st February 2006 or the 1st August 2006 ."
