Η σκηνή με τους πολλούς Smiths γυρίστηκε σε blue screen (βασικά πράσινο, αλλά τεσπα), με τον Κιάνου Ριβς και 5-6 κομπάρσους να κάνουν τους Smiths που βρίσκονται κοντά του.

Οι σκηνές όπου ο Neo αιωρείται είναι με bungee ropes.

Αξίζει να αναφερθεί η τεχνική που χρησιμοποιήθηκε στο Matrix 1 για slow-motion scenes, που πολλοί πλέον επίσης χρησιμοποιούν. Παλαιότερα, το slow-motion γινόταν με αναπαραγωγή των καρέ που "τράβηξε" η κάμερα σε πιο αργό ρυθμό. Αντ'αυτού, χρησιμοποιούνται ειδικές κάμερες που τραβάνε περισσότερα καρέ ανά δευτερόλεπτο απ'τις κανονικές κάμερες και στη συνέχεια προβάλλονται σε κανονικό ρυθμό. Έτσι πετυχαίνεται μια πιο ρεαλιστική liquid κίνηση.

Μιας και μιλάμε για τέτοιες τεχνικές, αξίζει να αναφερθεί πώς γυρίστηκε η μάχη στην αρχή του Lotr. Ο στρατός είναι 3d animated characters, δημιουργημένοι με πρόγραμμα παρόμοιο προσωμοίωσης χαρακτήρα σε 3d games. Αντί να προγραμματίζεται ξεχωριστά η κίνηση κάθε χαρακτήρα, κάθε χαρακτήρας έχει μια υποτυπώδη νοημοσύνη και αποφασίζει τις κινήσεις του. Έτσι, απλά χρησιμοποιείται ένας έτοιμος κατάλογος κινήσεων. Κάθε φορά που γύριζαν τη σκηνή αυτή στους υπολογιστές τους, είχαν και διαφορετική μάχη :)

Κάτι που ξέχασα. Στο πρώτο Matrix οι rotated-motion scenes δημιουργήθηκαν με τη τοποθέτηση φωτογραφικών μηχανών σφαιρικά γύρω από το τοπίο που τραβάνε διαδοχικά εικόνες με πολύ μικρή χρονική διαφορά μεταξύ τους.

Οι rotated-motion scenes στο Matrix:Reloaded νομίζω πως δημιουργήθηκαν με υπολογιστή.

(στην ουσία, δε πρόκειται για ιδιαίτερη πρωτοτυπία. Η Apple είχε εισάγει αυτή τη τεχνική για ρεαλιστική παράσταση ενός χώρου και 360 degree rotation το 1995, όπου φωτογραφίζεται ο χώρος από ένα κεντρικό σημείο διαδοχικά σε ίσες γωνίες και ίσο χρόνο).
