Christopher Kinder :
Good afternoon to all, and it is time to update you once again,..........
We have successfully finished Day 3 at Morrisound Studio's in Tampa.
This is a great facility and most of you recognize the studio from many of the previous Savatage albums. Jim Morris is once again at the helm and in fine form as usual. Jon, Greg, and Jim seem to be like 3 people sharing the same brain. Everything is clicking perfectly. All of the recording and post-production work by Greg and Juan (our Protools expert @ Audio Lab) have sped up the mixing process ten-fold and created a near seamless work environment for everyone.
Jim knows Jon's voice and his approach better than anyone, so it was only right to come to Morrisound. But while Jim knows what Jon's visions usually are, this record is remarkably different. Let's just say there are alot of "sounds" on this record that you have not heard before on any previous Sava-record.
So, 6 songs are in the can, and we should have 2 more by tomorrow.
The finished result is exactly what we had anticipated,..........Breathtaking!
We loved the demo's, but now that all the parts have been put where they belong, it is just amazing. The tone from every instrument is so alive, it is like we are playing right in your living room...Awesome. We finished 3 songs from the original demo's, plus "The Dark", "People Say", and one more that doesn't have a working title yet. I think "Gaurdian of Forever" is next and then New Midas....I will keep you informed...
I will pictures from the Studio in the next day or so!
Thanks again............
