Πέρα του ότι η ακουστική του ονόματος της μπάντας (side project μελών των Cave In, σωστά; ) με απωθούσε αυτομάτως, επίσης προσωπικά δεν άντεξα ποτέ ό,τι είχε πέσει στα αυτιά μου από αυτή την "post-sludge" ζαλούρα (όσον αφορά τα γούστα μου πάντα οκ; ) και τους είχα βάλει στο περιθώριο. Μέχρι προχθές που ένας κολλητός πωρωμένος με τη μπάντα άρχισε να με πρήζει για το καινούριο Zozobra (άκου "Zozobra") και ότι εγώ ειδικά έπρεπε να το ακούσω. Βρήκα στο youtube το παρακάτω κομμάτι και, έχοντας πάθει μουνόπλακα, έτρεξα αμέσως soulseek. 6 κομμάτια, 15 λεπτά. Που οκ, η διάρκεια κομματιών από μόνη της δε λέει κάτι, όταν όμως έρχεσαι αντιμέτωπος με αυτόν το χείμαρρο ανελέητης και αρχιδάτης σλατζοκραστοχαρντκορίλας τα πράγματα γίνονται πολύ απλά. Τι να πω, απλά ακούστε. Για μένα, δυνατή υποψηφιότητα για κυκλοφορία της χρονιάς από αρκετά νωρίς μάλιστα. Πραγματικά ελπίζω να μην πρόκειται απλά για φλασιά που έφαγαν μόνο για αυτόν το δίσκο και να το συνεχίσουν έτσι, γιατί με την ευκαιρία ξανάκουσα και τα δύο προηγούμενα albums τους και προσωπικά εκεί δεν τους παλεύω :P

Βασικά απευθύνονται το καθένα σε διαφορετικούς ακροατές, όπως προείπα. Με άλλα λόγια, δεν τίθεται θέμα σύγκρισης για μένα. Albums του στιλ Birds of Prey προσωπικά δεν παλεύω να τα ακούσω.

Δεν έχω προλάβει να το ακούσω το καινούριο ακόμα (τις τελευταίες βδομάδες ακούω ΜΟΝΟ Universe217), αλλά 2 κομμάτια που είχανε διαρρεύσει μ'αρέσανε. Και εννοείται άλλη μπάντα πια σε σύγκριση με το Bird of Prey, καμία σχέση απολύτως.

Ωραίο το άλμπουμ, αλλά πολύ μικρό σε διάρκεια :| Σαν το καινούργιο των Nails, το οποίο διαρκεί περίπου 18 λεπτά και το "βάφτισαν" full length. Υπέροχο και το artwork απ' τον Glyn Smyth!

Γαμώ τη γκαντεμιά μου, μόλις έφτασε ο δίσκος (παραγγελία κατευθείαν από το discogs account της Brutal Panda) και δείτε πώς είναι:

Προφανώς ελαττωματικό κομμάτι από το εργοστάσιο, αλλά δεν ήταν σφραγισμένο και ο δίσκος ήταν έξω από το εξώφυλλο (μέσα στη ζελατίνα), ο μαλάκας που έκανε το πακέτο δεν το είδε πριν το στείλει; Έλεος.

Μόλις έστειλα pm για refund ή νέα αποστολή, για να δούμε.

αν πλήρωσες με paypal απλά κάνε dispute ανεξάρτητα του τι θ'απαντήσει και γάμα του τη μάνα.

Επειδή βλέπω ότι υπάρχει κάποιο ενδιαφέρον, να η απάντηση που μου έστειλαν χθες:
I am sorry to hear that the record arrived damaged but based on the picture it looks like it was warped, most likely from staying out in the heat for too long. Most pressing plants do not seal their records unless you are getting the print work and the actual vinyl pressed at the same location. Also the way it was shipped with the record outside of the sleeve is how most vinyl are shipped to avoid splitting the seams of the jacket. I am not sure why you would assume that we would send you a record that was clearly warped but that was definitely not the case.

I think you should start by taking up the issue with the post office since every record we send out is brand new and never played and the picture you sent shows a record that was damaged by being warped from exposure to heat. You can see that we have a 100% positive feedback rate so we are obviously not sending people damaged records.

If the post office doesn't offer you a refund we can reship you a new record but would ask that you pay the postage costs since it was not our fault. Please let me know your thoughts
Δεν πάνε καλά οι φτηνιάρηδες λέω εγώ, και να η απάντησή μου:
I know very well that this is the way unsealed records are shipped as I've been buying records online for more than 10 years; my point was that this way whoever made the package could see that this was a faulty record, as I've never in all those years received a record looking like this, so I really can't believe that this was done in the post office. After all, how many degrees of heat can make a record like this inside a package? Give me a break please.

I've already spoken with my post office but they accept no liability as the outer cardboard package was intact (as well as all the record sleeves, this fact could also say something about the "warping in the post office" case). The only way a refund could be made would be from your side if you had shipped the record with insured mail; which you didn't.

As for your 100% positive feedback (of 20 whole transactions!), well it's about to drop as it's purely unacceptable to ask from a customer to pay $18 more for a record he's already paid $34 for; only in the sense of keeping him happy so he'll buy from you again. This is the first time I'm having to deal with such poor customer support.

I'm sorry, but the only thing I'm about to do is claim a full refund through Paypal. That is unless I receive a new record in my mailbox in the next days (only the record in the inner sleeve would be enough of course, as I already have the outer sleeve and lyric sheet); in that case, I will close the Paypal dispute immediately and leave positive feedback.

Καλά ξηγήθηκες, πολύ μαλάκες. Θυμάμαι πριν χρόνια - με Alveran ή Lifeforce - μου ΄χε τύχει παρόμοια μαλακία με δίσκο και, όχι μόνο έστειλαν πίσω καινούργιο, αλλά μου έβαλαν και δώρο μπλουζάκι μέσα ζητώντας συγγνώμη.

Επίσης, να πω ότι και ο προηγούμενος δίσκος μου άρεσε πολύ τελικά, ενώ διαβάζοντας τα γραφόμενά σου ήμουνα αρνητικά προδιαθετημένος. (Το καινούργιο γαμεί, τι να λέμε.)
