Letter of endorsement for the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative
To whom it may concern,
We who sign this letter are committed to a free and open Internet, rights that can never be taken for granted. We come from various places in the world, where freedom of speech has been neglected, sometimes even dismantled.
Most countries have failed in protecting these rights on the Internet. During the past decades the networks have increasingly been put under government and/or corporate surveillance or censorship.
We who sign this letter are opposed to surveillance, censorship and blocking. We believe that the free flow of information is vital to creating fair and democratic societies, where abuse and inequalities can be addressed in the public. For this reason, we support the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative in its strife for freedom and openness on the Internet.
Dearest government, tear down these firewalls!
