Eλαφρώς άκυρο σκηνικό μπορώ να πω και αυτό από την άποψη ότι ένα από τα λίγα φεστιβάλ με άποψη για το τι παίζεται στις σκηνές του αρχίζει τις χημείες. Anyway...

Παρόλα αυτά, μαζί με τις φήμες για EHG και Sleep, είναι πολύ καλός λόγος να το παλέψουμε μπας και ανέβουμε για πρώτη φορά εκει πάνω.

Η μαλακία είναι να βλέπεις Enslaved κσερωγώ μετά την αποθέωση του μπασσοfuzzάτου ήχου και να ακούγονται σαν ενοχλητικά τζιτζίκια (υποτιμάς και τις μπάντες δλδ).

Sons of Otis return to Europe; 2 shows at Roadburn 2010
If time is a toxin, then Sons of Otis must be positively venomous. After a decade since their last European tour, the Canadian heavyweights will return in a very big way, playing two different sets at Roadburn Festival 2010.

Formed in Toronto as Otis in 1992, Sons of Otis has followed Detroit-born guitarist Ken Baluke’s original vision to play thick sludge riffs underpinned by a pounding rhythm section and heavily reverbed vocals. The result is slow, spacey, hypnotic blues rock, seemingly too heavy to be real.

1999’s Templeball easily ranks among the best albums that Sons of Otis ever put out, and definitely qualifies as one of the very best stonerrock albums of all time, too. The band will play this mile (high) stone of a record in its entirety at Roadburn 2010, in addition to a regular show.

Ken Baluke comments: “We've always wanted play Roadburn, but our hands were tied… But now, the shackles are off and we're on the way Holland. Peace!”


Doom metal giants YOB confirmed for Roadburn 2010
Reunited doom metal giants YOB will be making their European live debut with two different shows at next year’s Roadburn Festival.

Even during their hiatus, YOB have maintained their position in the vanguard of contemporary doom because of the quality and originality of their mind bending doom-metal. Now they have returned and are prepared to reach even greater heights (and doom depths). The band’s latest album, “The Great Cessation” is definitely YOB’sYOB finest hour. Led by Mike Scheidt’s crushing doom riffage and relentless stomp, have easily reclaimed their rightful cosmic doom throne while generating new fans and momentum.

Roadburn will celebrate YOB’s return to the fold by offering the band the opportunity to play different shows at both the 013 venue, and the Midi Theatre during the festival.

Mike Scheidt comments: “YOB is quite thrilled to announce our first European trip to play the most excellent Roadburn festival in 2010. We have wanted to come over to Europe to play for many years and to have our first show be at Roadburn is beyond incredible for us. GOATSNAKE TO REUNITE FOR ROADBURN 2010
The Wait Is Over! Roadburn is very pleased to report that seminal doom-legends Goatsnake will reunite for Roadburn Festival 2010.

Featuring the original line up of Greg Anderson (Sunn 0))) / Guitars), Guy PinhasGreg Rogers (The Obsessed / Drums) and Pete StahlGoatsnake will headline the Thursday Roadburn date, April 15th, 2010. (The Obsessed / Bass), (Scream / Wool / earthlings? / Vocals)

With two classic-albums under their belt ( I, re-released on Southern Lord & Flower of Disease), Goatsnake have forged a considerable niche in the heavy rock underground over the last decade with their signature Sunn guitar sound. Pete Stahl’s clean, soulful vocals have always been at the heart of Goatsnake’s low and slow bulldozer rock as well, setting them apart from their peers. Goatsnake‘s influence can still be heard and felt throughout the current stoner and doom scene, even after such a long hiatus.

Greg Anderson comments: “Roadburn is hands down the only festival that consistently has a lineup that I personally would like to see. Being asked to perform with Goatsnake is an honor and a privilege. I’m really fucking stoked to play music with Greg, Guy and Pete again. We will do our absolute best to kick as much ass as possible!”

We are truly looking forward to the melodic, low-end assault that Goasnake will bring to the festival, as we consider ourselves very lucky with this highly anticipated reunion.

The recently reunited Thorr's Hammer will be playing Tom Warrior's Only Death Is Real at Roadburn 2010, set to be held on Friday, April 16th.

Having witnessed some downright incredible events in music this year, the recent Thorr's Hammer reunion gigs at ..Birmingham..'s own Supersonic Festival and London were among the absolute highlights. For the first time in 15 years, Thorr's Hammer treated audiences to live renditions of their monolithic, gut-wrenching, black-doom, originally created in the mammoth stoned winter of 1994-1995.

Personally invited by Tom Gabriel Warrior, Thorr's Hammer, comprised of Stephen O'Malley (Sunn 0))), Guitar), Greg Anderson (Sunn 0))), Guitar), Jamie Sykes (Drums), long time cohort Guy Pinhas (The Obsessed / Goatsnake, Bass) and original vocalist Runhild Gammelsæter, will be playing their first ever show on the European mainland at Tom's Roadburn curated event, Only Death is Real.

Tom Gabriel Warrior comments: "I am excited and very happy as a fan and I feel proud and honored as a curator that Thorr's Hammer have accepted my invitation and have agreed to play next year's Roadburn festival. I greatly respect Stephen O'Malley both as a peer and a friend, and I have long regarded Thorr's Hammer as pioneers in their field. Having them at Roadburn is a true privilege."

Not in my wildest dreams as a teenage girl listening to Celtic Frost and playing doom in Seattle did I imagine that Thorr's Hammer would be appreciated 15 years later. TGW's guitar playing, Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost were essential to the collaborative musical directions Greg Anderson and I were forging in the early days of making music together, and we remain faithful servants to this day. Even more essentially, TH was certainly a HH acolyte in the beginning, our direction nearly one of an attempt toward simulation of that acts primal aggressive modes. We are both proud and humbled to be the guest of one of our metal mentors, and to be given the first opportunity to play the original 1994 demo "Dommedagsnatt" material in it's entirety on the European continent for the very first time.”

We' re gonna celebrate the 10th anniversary of Moss on Saturday, April 17th.
Southhampton, England's Moss is is a three-piece (hammer) horror doom band that formed in 2000. Influenced by H.P. Lovecraft and the occult, songs usually average the 20 minute mark and incorporate dense and otherworldly atmospheres.


With Tombs of the Blind Drugged (released on Rise Above Records -instand cred!), Moss' unique brand of extremity and terror now reaches new depths as monolithic riffs and gut wrenching vocals wreck and bludgeon but with an added sense for the melodic, and through the use of organ and mysterious chants atmospheres become ever more dense...

Olly Pearson: "Roadburn is the only festival we would leave our tombs for, so with thanks to Walter and the team we are honoured to announce our involvement in the 2010 edition. Not only is this event hosting our first European ritual in 6 years, it will also mark our 10th year of existence. Hailing from Dayton, Ohio, Mouth of the Architect is exploring heavy metal's more progressive, trance-inducing reaches bringing to mind bands such as Neurosis, Isis, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Mouth of The Architect will play the Thursday, Roadburn date, April 15th.

Master Musicians of Bukkake

Master Musicians of Bukkake excels at acoustic ethnic drones, outerwordly chants, and ventures into uncharted Hawkwind, Gong and Magma waters by pairing spacey guitar leanings, Tibetan bells, chimes and gamelan percussion with electronic FX. Totem One could easily be the soundtrack to a fucked-up underground movie as weird and compelling as Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Holy Mountain or El Topo. Crazy!

Karma To Burn

The recently reformed Karma To Burn are recommended to anyone who's a fan of the Almighty Riff. Devoid of songtitles or even choruses, Karma To Burn's instrumental rock never gets boring and grooves even if you don't want to.
Karma To Burn will also appear at the Midi Theatre on Friday, April 16th 2010 as part of the Roadburn Festival.

Altar of Plagues

Black metal is experiencing a strong resurgence as of late, heralding bands which meld elements of their Scandinavian forefathers with more experimental concepts. A plethora of new bands with ambient, jazz, doom and blackened elements from across the metal spectrum have gained notoriety, pumping new life into a genre wrought with stereotypes.

Integrating the frantic production of Scandinavian black metal with the ambience of post metal is Ireland’s Altar of Plagues, whose debut album White Tomb is a definitive statement regarding the abilities of the genre. Altar of Plagues will be playing the Saturday Roadburn date, April 17th.

Yakuza

Staying deeply rooted in a genre all its own, Yakuza’s existence lies on a metal base with progressive flair, while somehow also incorporating elements of jazz, world beat, and post-rock ambience. Picture (if you can) a mixture of King Crimson, all periods of John Coltrane’s career, Tortoise, and Napalm Death. The end result is captivating, a sound that Rolling Stone, Revolver, Alternative Press, the Chicago Sun Times, the Chicago Tribune, All That Jazz and countless others all agree is refreshingly original, technically proficient, all the while still staying very metal.

Μην συζητησω για διοργανωση, σεβασμο στον θεατη, στις μπαντες, στον ηχο κλπ. Μην λεμε λοιπον οτι το παραγαμησανε και οτι τον παιζουν.

Μακαρι γενικα να βελτιωσουν τα παντα οπως λενε αλλα κυριως να προσφερουν βιωσιμες συνθηκες στις μπανταρες που παιζουν στο μπατ κειβ, αυτο νομιζω ειναι το μεγα παραπονο μου.
Και φυσικα δικαιοτερη κατανομη των εισητηριων - περιορισμος του ebay.

Περα απο αυτα θελω πολυ να παω αλλα το σκεφτομαι ακομα..

Death Row will appear at the Midi Theatre as part of the Roadburn Festival. Tom Gabriel Warrior’s curated event “Only Death is Real” will be held on the same day at the 013 venue.
Out of the tumultuous past of their careers together… Victor Griffin, Joe Hasselvander, and Marty Swaney are bringing Death Row back heavier than ever. But this time they’re leaving the elements of deception behind… the darker images, which to some degree blinded them, and tore them apart time and again from the inside out.

ROADBURN 2010 SOLD OUT IN 30 MINUTES

We’re thrilled to announce that Roadburn Festival 2010 sold out in just 30 minutes.

Needless to say, we’re speechless. After last years ticket mayhem, and raising the ticketprice from € 99 to € 145 for Roadburn 2010, we didn’t expect this to happen, and certainly not in 30 minutes. The same goes for the Afterburner, which sold out in a mere 8 minutes. Most of the tickets went to our true fans instead of scalpers and touts.

We’re really happy about this, as Roadburn is about a gathering of like minded people, and we will all bask in the heaviness of the riff during Roadburn 2010. We’re looking forward to be among our friends.

Some people were able to buy tickets throughout Saturday and Sunday after Roadburn 2010 sold out. What happend? Over the course of the weekend, while Ticketmaster was processing all the orders, a total of about 50 tickets kept bouncing back and forth between on hold and available: one moment they were on hold, then the transaction failed and the ticket got released again. Luckily some of you benefited from this anomaly after the festival officially sold out.

Please note: in previous years we have been forced to confiscate tickets that were purchased from an unauthorized sales point. There are dozens of ticket broker sites that are more than happy to offer tickets at inflated prices, and in many cases they are not even authentic Roadburn tickets. We sincerely regret that we cannot admit you to the festival if you are in possession of what proves to be a counterfeit ticket. Do yourself a favour and don’t purchase your tickets from those who offer their greed as a service.

Magnus will perform some very personal songs on acoustic guitar that will be recorded sometime next year for a full-length record. According to Magnus, “the record will include a lot of different instrumentation but the whole idea is that the songs can be perfomed solo as well as with 4 or even more people.”

Also look for Witchcraft members John Hoyles and Ola Henriksson at Roadburn 2010, as they are teaming up with Örebro legend and rocker Martin Heppich to play in his band Troubled Horse. The band sports a distinctive, sinister, 60’s sounding garage rock vibe, combined with a taste of 70’s psych-doom, creating music that evokes The Kinks, Pentagram and Roky Erickson.

ναι με τρένο. τα ολλανδικά τρένα γαμάνε και είναι 24ωρα, απλά μετά τις 23.30 (νομίζω) έχουν αραιά δρομολόγια, και καλό είναι τα εισιτήρια για τα βραδινά δρομολόγια να τα'χεις βγάλει από πριν γιατί μες στην άγρια νύχτα είναι δύσκολο να βρεις υπάλληλο να σε εξυπηρετήσει.

Τα εισητήρια βγαινουν απο μηχανημα αυτοματα με πιστωτικη. Υπαρχει μικρη εκπτωση για αλε-ρετουρ την ιδια μερα. Αμστερνταμ - Τιλμπουρχ ειναι πανω απο ωρα και το βραδυ αργα θα πρεπει να αλλαζεις σε ενδιαμεσο σταθμο (Χερτοχενμπος) αλλα ειναι ευκολο.
