There will be a single of "Stealing Grace" on the 5th of April, featuring probably 2 live tracks as well from the performance in Texas.
The first 5000 copies will be in a slipcase, the rest plain and there will be a special edition of 1000 leatherbound ones.
The samples are of less than CD quality for space considerations. The normal production KILLS !

METAL INVADER REVIEW - http://www.metal-invader.com
LEASH LAW – “Dogface”
(Black Lotus Records)
Running Time : 40:47 (+ possible bonus)
Black Lotus Records strikes gold with this one. Not a long time ago there was some contact with the band and BLR decided to sign them. What a fateful day. It was a surgical strike for both parties. The company expanded into new waters by signing a premiere world class act and the band gets a lot of attention from the label as we were able to witness at the listening session, in which the mood was really relaxed and friendly. But enough about that. Let’s take a look at the record. Lately when I read a magazine I find it really irritating to read about this or that bands latest “masterpiece”, everybody just hails and hails shity records to no end, just to sell some more records. And that really sucks.
Milking the listeners dry with sub par records every 1 year. Gosh it sucks big-time.
Well either you want to believe it or not LEASH LAW’s record is really good. It’s not a “masterpiece” by any means but it’s really, really good. A really great debut. Easily one of the best 10 albums I heard in the last 5 years. I think that their second record could be a real gem. If this is just the beginning – I really don’t know how they intend to top it, but somehow I think they re talented enough to do it. It’s easily the best thing I have heard this month. And I ‘m listening to it 4-5 times a day just to give you an idea of how good this is. The production that took place at Audio Recording Service (one of the premiere American studios where many pop bands do their productions as well as more classical artists like Chris De Burg and Peter Gabriel ) The result is simply amazing. It’s one of the best produced records I ‘ve heard in a while. The mastering that took place in Athens Mastering has also elevated the result further. The production is awesome. Clear as crystal, although a gazillion of things are going on (according to the band 21 channels were used to record the drums alone), yet the sound is solid and heavy. You feel like someone has dropped a ton of bricks on you! Concerning it’s style it’s American Metal, with a lot of really nice short solos in the vein of Malmsteen but with a lot of crunch as well. Imagine PANTERA circa the power metal era, imagine ICED EARTH if they were not as monotonous, Imagine well JUDAS PRIEST’s “Jugulator” if it had a lot of solos. Now take that to the power of ten. There you have it. A perfect mix between American and European, Old and New School, LEASH LAW’s “Dogface” is a hybrid that is gonna appeal to a wide variety of metal heads. Let’s go over the tracks one by one now. 01) Fight. A really catchy fast paced opener that grabs you by the neck right from the start. It really sets the pace for the entire record. Wade to my ears comes across as a mix between Halford, ripper and Anselmo in his early days. A really cool riff and a blistering solo. A really catchy chorus. The song is about all the little day to day “battles” that we “fight”. About being free. A perfect way to open the record. 02) Dogface. The “dog faces” are the soldiers that go first in the battle, probably never to return. Cannon fodder. A really nightmarish mid pacer with a crunchy riff. It almost mirrors the feeling of going to meet your death. Preety cool. 03) Stealing grace. Probably the best track of the record. A more classical metal approach here. Mid pace with a slightly faster chorus and anthemic guitars through and through. A nice solo with a hint of IRON MAIDEN ’s middle period. It’s all about sending people to fight in a war, knowing that they may never return. Stealing their grace and their souls.Excellent. 04) Hail to blood. Well a song inspired by the movie “ The Gladiator” with Russel crowe, this track commences with some sound effects. A really epic mood sets in, not strictly in a way that say MANOWAR would do it, but in a more Soundtrack like way. Imagine trumpets heralding the gladiators into the arena. A lot of crunch again. A nice pre chorus but the main chorus and another verse in which Wade goes mental and starts shouting like a man possessed are really going to make you go crazy. A really infectious song. 05) Banyan – a ballad (?) dedicated to Wade’s late mother and to his wife. Well the piano is prominent. Think of something like ACCEPT ’s ballads, while Wade’s voice is not exactly a voice for singing ballads he manages to channel a lot of emotion into his delivery. It kind of neatly splits the record into the middle. So that you can take a breath from the relentless attack and be ready for the second part. Very nice. 06) Better when betrayed. A song that Wade wrote about all the backstabbing in the music business. Really angry and mean sounding. An almost claustrophobic mood. It’s probably not the best song in here, but it ain’t bad either. Really ironic lyrics.07) Martial law . Another blistering track. It’s all about the counties and territories that re under martial law. A really weird solo that to my ears sounds like friggin DIRE STRAITS meets MAIDEN . How is that possible. Well probably my brain has been fried by now from all this molten metal and I don’t know what I ‘m saying. Another anthem.10) Hell hole. No it’s not a SPINAL TAP tribute or cover. It’s a really twisted song about a trip to hell. Really heavy and trippy. Pretty interesting if you ask me. 09) Paving the way. The ideal way to close the record . A brooding, moody, song that reminded me of Priest’s “Cathedral Spires” in more ways than one. Without the screams at the end. It kind of sounds like something that JAG PANZER could have wrote. Phew. All in all this is one of the most serious and complete metal albums I have heard in the past few years. I mean that would be anticipated anyway. We ‘ve got a bunch of world class musicians here. Richard Christy of DEATH, ICED EARTH and CONTROL DENIED fame is an animal of a drummer. Just amazing and he really couples well with Stephen Elder of ROB ROCK fame. Emo Mowery from NOCTURNUS along with Rick Renstrom (solo,ROB ROCK) really kick ass on 6 and 7 string guitars and I cannot comment and praise enough Rick who manages to play like friggin Yngwie although he has a serious handicap that would probably have made other people give up. Wow, the man has chased his dreams and became a really kick ass guitar player as well as a cool dude. It was really inspirational to meet him. And last but not least WADE BLACK. A perfect mix between Halford and Ripper, a 100% nuts, a 100% metal. Hey, when you put all of these guys in a room it’s like putting together a bloody atom bomb. They have managed to create a really great album with interesting lyrics, which deal with real life issues apart from a couple of songs. The sound is really heavy with a lot of groove but crystal clear at the same time. And they have good songwriting skills, something that a lot of bands sorely lack in today’s scene, ending up to imitate themselves after a couple of albums. LEASH LAW have accumulated a lot of influences but have copied none. Which in itself is a great feat. LEASH LAW have created an album that disregards the standards of traditional power metal and transcends the genres limitations. What could be better than a law that breaks all the rules ? Metal is the LAW, Obey the LAW, LEASH LAW !!! An album from metal heads for metal heads.
Now are you still here ? Go out and grab a copy NOW! It’s a bloody “masterpiece” I ‘m telling you !
