Πάντως από όλο το NWOBHM άνετα βγαίνει ένα 4-CD compilation που ειλικρινά να έχει σχεδόν οτιδήποτε άξιζε μέσα. Αυτές οι μπάντες σπάνια γράφανε παραπάνω από 1-2 τέλεια τραγούδια η κάθε μια.

ε, είπα να βγει μονή η συλλογή για να μην πάει άπατη. όχι ότι θα κατεβάσει κανείς τώρα, αλλά λέμε. συν του ότι σε γενικές γραμμές ξέρω πολύ λίγα πράγματα. anyway, καλύτερα έτσι, για να μας κάνεις κι εσύ μια :)

εγώ το κατέβασα και μ'άρεσε! Δεν θυμόμουν τους Grim Reaper τόσο γαμάτους!

Το NWOBHM δεν είναι και ο χώρος μου, δηλαδή μερικά δεν τα'ξερα από το playlist φαντάσου, οπότε δεν παίζει να γράψω εγώ ανάλογη αλλά εδώ και αρκετό καιρό ένας φίλος ακούει 'όλο το NWOBHM που υπάρχει' κάνοντας το απαραίτητο ξεσκαρτάρισμα (είναι στο Μ) οπότε ίσως στο μέλλον.

Γενικά, χωρίς να είμαι κ γω ειδικός, υπάρχουν αρκετά γκρουπ με 1-2 σινγκλ που έχουν γράψει κομματάρες, όρεξη να έχεις να ψάχνεις.

Εντιτ: αν κ δεν θα έβαζα τους Άνβιλ προσωπικά στο ιδίωμα, ούτε τους χέβι λόαντ. :P

συνολικά ούτε 'γω τους κατατάσσω στο ιδίωμα, αλλά τα κομμάτια δεν είναι μακριά από τον ήχο και επειδή με υπερκαρακατακαυλώνουν τα χωσα κι αυτά.

Τα πρώτα δυο είναι technothrash μόνο. Τα αλλά δυο... θα σου πει το σφινοτουβλακι τελικώς, ελπίζω.

έχει μέσα η συλλογή φυσικά, και κλείνει και θεματικά καλά, αλλά δεν βάζω πάνω από ένα τραγούδι από την ίδια μπάντα σε mixtape (παλιό κόλλημα).

είναι αρκετά κατανοητή η διαφωνία. Είμαι ο μόνος που ξέρω που διαχωρίζει μεταξύ technothrash και progressive thrash. Στο μυαλό μου είναι αρκετά ξεκάθαρες οι διαφορές αλλά στο να τις αποτυπώσω χάνω λιγο. Η συλλογή ίσως βοηθήσει!

Deathrow - Machinery

Γερμανία. Savage Teutonic Thrash του τρομερού 'Raging Steel' παίρνει μετάθεση στο Τechnothrash με την εισαγωγή του μεγαλοφυούς κιθαρίστα Uwe Osterlehner (επίσης στους δεύτερους End Amen) που εδώ το κάνει λίγο προσωπικό του άλμπουμ το πράγμα. Οι Deathrow σήμερα λένε ότι είναι το λιγότερο αγαπημένο τους δημιούργημα αλλά εγώ τι να κάνω, τ'αγαπάω. Με το που άκουσα στην συλλογή της Noise μικρός το μινόρε-με-χρωματικούς-εμπλουτισμούς ακουστικό εισαγωγικό, ήξερα ότι εδώ είναι κάτι για εμένα. Ο ορισμός του Technothrash όπως το καταλαβαίνω, από την μουσική μέχρι τους στίχους και όλα όλα γενικά τελεία υπέροχα δακρύζω και είμαστε στο πρώτο κομμάτι.

Σημειώστε το τελείωμα του τραγουδιού με το γραζανοϊδές lockstep προς την εντροπία του αύριο (του χτες μας και του σήμερα, μην αναπνέετε κανείς δεν νίκησε). Συναισθητικά, έτσι.

Aftermath - Eyes of Tomorrow

Αμερικάνοι, Chicago από τους λίγους Coroner-κλώνους. Το τραγούδι περιέχεται επειδή κάνει το ύστερο στυλ Coroner (που το προτιμώ λιγότερο) καλλίτερα από τους ίδιους τους Coroner. Έλληνας τραγουδιστής, άκλαφτη μπάντα, ακούστε όμως ΤΣΑΜΠΟΥΚΑ και όχι μαλακίες, για να ξεχωρίζουμε το technothrash από το progmetal του ελέους. Επίσης καλή αίσθηση του groove αν σκεφτεί κανείς ότι τίποτα σε αυτό το κομμάτι δεν είναι απλό.

Ice Age - Instant Justice

Σουηδία all-girl technothrash με - σε αυτό το demo track - Debbie Gunn από Znowhite/Sentinel Steel αγάπη μεγάλη στα φωνητικά. Εδω έχουμε οριακό technothrash με ψηλές από Coroner και αρκετούς (too much!) Megadeth. Μεγάλος σεβασμός, βρείτε και τα 2 demo αν είστε μάγκες. Δεν έχουν γράψει κακό τραγούδι, κρίμα που δεν πήγαν για album.

Betrayal - Ichabod

Ε έπρεπε και λίγη χριστιανίλα. Ή αυτούς ή Believer διαλέξτε. Το white metal μας έρχεται όπως συνήθως από Αμερική. Σλαπ φανκ μπάσο Jesu jesu the shells have cracked και τέτοια. Ωραία riffs. Δεν τους ξέρει κανείς. Μου θυμίζουν Cyclone σε κάτι φάσεις, και ενίοτε παίζουν και gothic thrash, αξίζει το ψάξιμο και για τα 2 πρώτα. Συγχωρέστε τους το Pantera riff προς το τέλος, το solo δικαιώνει.

Flaming Anger - Fall of Pnom Penh

Γερμανία, ιδιότυπο technothrash που δεν θυμίζει τίποτα. Δεν τους ξέρει κανείς. Τα demo είναι καλλίτερα από το άλμπουμ αλλά το άλμπουμ έχει το απόλυτο technothrash εξώφυλλο

από τις μεγάλες μου αγάπες. Ο drummer τους μου λέει ότι το ξανενεργοποίησαν το όνομα. Ο τρίτος παγκόσμιος πόλεμος έρχεται και οι βόμβες θα σκάνε προς τα μέσα.

Spectral Incursion - Beneath Your Lives

Φασματικό φάντασμα από Αμερικα, όταν το riff και το solo γίνονται ένα πράγμα. Τα είπαμε αλλού για αυτούς.

Kinetic Dissent - Banished

USA. Αν οι Anthrax δεν είχαν πνευματική διαύγεια 13χρονου. Σημαντικοί στίχοι, η διαφοροποίηση του thrash με το technothrash:

Watchtower - Fall of Reason

Προτίμησα από το πρώτο (που είναι πιο -thrash) επειδή εδώ θεματικά είναι το 100% του τι τελοσπάντων με απασχολεί στο ιδίωμα. Και το μεσαίο σημείο με το 'what am I dying for?' με σκοτώνει. Texas Metal, ετσι? Ο όρος ' Τechno - Τhrash' δικός τους και ας είναι το συγκεκριμένο τραγούδι με το ένα πόδι σε αυτό που έγινε αργότερα λουλουδάτο δαντελέ U2 Metal από Μπερκλεϊ όλα τα 90s.

Coroner - Masked Jackal

Switzerland. Το καλλίτερο thrash τραγούδι γενικά κατά την γνώμη μου αλλά και αισθητικώς μέσα στο νόημα της φάσης. Και τι δεν θα έδινα για να δω live Coroner.

Sieges Even - David

Watchtower worship +1! Τραγούδι για τον κατατρεγμό των Εβραίων. When will man ever listen to reason? Γερμανία, ενοχικό σύνδρομο και πολύς fusion χρωματισμός.

Calhoun Conquer - Fuckhead

όταν είστε Switzerland μην παίρνετε πολύ στα σοβαρά τίποτα.

Γερμανία, κοριτσάκι τραγουδάει εδώ η Melanie Bock που είναι υπέροχος άνθρωπος. Σχετικοί με Depressive Age και Holy Moses. μάλλον γενικά η πιο απαισιόδοξη πλευρά του Technothrash. όποιος το πει αυτό progmetal κάτι δεν του πάει καλά κάπου εκεί μέσα.

Mekong Delta - Transgressor

ήθελα να βάλω το Dances of Death αλλά είναι 20 λεπτά. Οι Mekong Delta είναι subgenre μέσα στο subgenre επειδή κανείς δεν τους έμοιαζε και αυτό το περίεργο thrash-μοντέρνα κλασσική σύνθεση πράγμα τους δεν νομίζω να μπορεί να το κάνει και κανένας άλλος. Γενικά η λιγότερο κοπιαρισμένη μπάντα από τις 'αρχικές' στο Technothrash. Γερμα-νί-α.

Voivod - Technocratic Manipulators

Αυτούς πάλι τους κόπιαρε όλο το σύμπαν. όλοι έχουν λίγο Voivod μέσα τους από 90s και μετά. Χμ τι να πω τώρα για αυτούς? Αρχικά θα έβαζα Oblyveon στην θέση τους αλλά μετά ντράπηκα. Καναδάς.

όσο για U2 Metal έχει να κάνει με την οργή και την ακρότητα που υπάρχει στο 'Metal' τμήμα (που κάνει το technothrash τόσο ενδιαφέρον επειδή αντικρίζεται διαλεκτικά από την προσήλωση στον έλεγχο και την ιδεολογική νοηματολόγιση που λείπει πχ από τους Slayer). ένα απλό graph τεστοστερόνης θα σε πείσει.

Στην συλλογή θα προσέξεις ότι δεν υπάρχει 'φλορικο' κομμάτι (κατά την γνώμη μου τουλάχιστον). Στάζει ιδρώτας ρε παιδί μου, όχι 'σκάλες πάρτε'.

Δεν έτυχε αναγνώρισης επειδή είναι δύσκολο στον ορισμό (και πόσο λατρεύουν οι 90's μέταλλοι τους ορισμούς!) και το κατάπιε το progmetal αναδρομικά. Διάβαζα ένα τεύχος Hammer στο τρένο από Θεσσαλονίκη Αθήνα και είχε αφιέρωμα νομίζω στα μεγάλα γερμανικά συγκροτήματα και έλεγε για Deathrow, για Sieges Even, για Holy Moses κλπ και ο όρος 'techno thrash' δεν ονομάστηκε ούτε μια φορά. Όλο 'progressive metal' το ανεβάζανε και 'progressive thrash' το κατεβάζανε. Δε μου κάνει και τεράστια εντύπωση για το Hammer, αλλά ..

Η ζημιά είναι ότι οι Coroner είναι μπάντα που όλοι σέβονται αλλά λίγοι ακούνε (όπως όλα αυτά τα περίεργα) ενώ το progmetal τύπου theater στην ουσία δεν είναι δύσκολο σε επίπεδο σύνθεσης, είναι U2 - μετά Metallica - μετά σκάλες - μετά Labrie. Πολλά μέρη, πυκνά μέρη, πολλές σκάλες, πολλά πλήκτρα, αλλά ακούγεται τελικά ευχάριστα και αν δεν σου αρέσει ένα μέρος κανε υπομονή 30 δευτερόλεπτα θα έρθει το επόμενο U2 singalong σημείο να στανιάρεις. Deathrow ακόμα και όταν περάσεις την περιπλοκότητα έχεις να αντιμετωπίσεις την βαναυσότητα του thrash από κάτω (οι 'δαντελένιοι' έχουν φύγει) και το πραγματικά σκοτεινό πολιτικοκοινωνικό υπόβαθρο της αισθητικής από κάτω του κάτω (δεν έχει scenes from a memory σαπουνόπερες και AND WE FLUSH τζάμπα οικολογίες κλπ). Οπότε μετά την πτώση της σοβιετικής ένωσης και του επίσημου τέλους του ψυχρού πολέμου, τώρα που δεν υπάρχει πια τίποτα που να θρέφει τέτοιες ανησυχίες, πιο είναι το νόημα αυτού του μουσικού ιδιώματος, ε? ;)

Δεν ξέρω πόσοι γνωρίζουν τις songs we taught... συλλογές (κυρίως για garage)
αυτή λοιπόν είναι μια που φτιάχνω χρόνια τώρα για τους Last Drive.

Διαρκεια 51κατι λεπτα.

Την παρακάτω συλλογή την έφτιαξα για ένα παιδί στη δουλειά που μου είπε χθες ότι γουστάρει metal ("ξέρεις, Tool, Prodigy, Queens of the Stone Age κι έτσι") και αναρωτιόταν τι μπορεί να αρέσει σε μένα, όταν του απαντούσα "όχι" σε ό,τι κι αν με ρώταγε αν ακούω.

Είπα λοιπόν ότι θα του κάψω ένα CDάκι με τα "εισαγωγικά". Άρχισα αυστηρά με αμερικάνικα και χωρίς να ψαχτώ πολύ, θα φτιάξω και μία μόνο με τα αντίστοιχα ευρωπαϊκά. Αν κάποιος θέλει να το ανεβάσω, ας μου το πει.

καλά γιατί μόνο Αμερική? Το Vol 2. αν υπάρξει απαιτώ να είναι από-αλλού-παντού. Το Holy Martyr από Omen και όχι πχ το The Curse (έστω ότι δεν ήθελες να βάλεις από το Battlecry για κάποιον λόγο). Λεπτομέρειες πάντως και αν δεν καταλάβει με τόση επική παλιατζούρα τι είναι το Heavy Metal είναι χαμένη περίπτωση.

Θα έρθει και το Vol. 2 με μια γεύση από τα απολύτως απαραίτητα ευρωπαϊκά γκρουπ (Accept, Priest, Maiden, Sabbath, Saxon, Running Wild κ.λπ.). Όταν την ετοιμάσω θα την ποστάρω κι αυτή.

Η επιλογή των κομματιών δεν έγινε με βάση το ποιο είναι το καλύτερο. Πολλά είναι personal favorites, άλλα τα διάλεξα στην τύχη, μερικά επελέγησαν με βάση τη μικρή διάρκεια. Και γενικά ήθελα άμεσο υλικό, μην ξεχνάμε ότι το παιδί θεωρεί heavy metal τους Tool και τους Prodigy. Στο τέλος-τέλος, τι να πρωτοδιαλέξεις από όλα αυτά τα ονόματα.

Αργότερα λέω να κάνω και καμιά πιο ψαγμένη συλλογή, με underground μπάντες κυρίως από Αμερική αλλά και Ευρώπη και άλλη μία με ξενόγλωσσα την οποία είχα υποσχεθεί και στον ikonoklast πριν από καιρό.

εδιτ: να γράψω και μερικά ονόματα που 'χει μέσα (μη σας αποθαρρύνουν τα 5 παρτς!!! [δε ξέρω γιατί βγήκαν τόσα βασικά, 394mb ήταν ο φάκελος])

το ξεκίνημα ήταν πολύ χαλαρό με Deadboy and the Elephantmen, Bonnie Prince Billy, Kuusumun Profeetta κλπ, συνεχίστηκε η ρομαντική ατμόσφαιρα με κομματάκια από 70's κυρίως μπάντες (Lost and Found - Camel, Lucky Man - Emerson Lake and Palmer, Winter Wine - Caravan) και τελικά ο σύνδεσμος Dax Riggs, Blue Cheer γύρισαν τη φάση σε πιο πάρτα-ροκ, συνεχίζει με Spiritual Beggars, Nighstalker, Sleep και μετά το χάσιμο, stone/garagila/ψυχεδέλεια είναι η συνταγή και με αρκετές δόσεις doom για να γουστάρουν τίποτα Θωμάδες κυρίως 8)

Άντε ξεκολλήστε, κατεβάστε!!
