iLiKETRAiNS played their first live gig at The Vine in Leeds in February 2004. The sound check was an experience. Bar staff, pub locals and a sound engineer nervously looked on as 5 chancers wearing British Rail jackets sheepishly unpacked electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, fender Rhodes, synthesizer, sampler, cornet, drum machine, cello bow, dictophone, melodica, flute and an array of ancient projection equipment.

Musically, Sigur Ross, Mum and Radiohead, lyrically, Nick Cave, Morrissey and Pulp, and visually the Velvet Underground and Cornelius.
