Cathedral set to enter studio!

The Brit Doomsters will finally enter New Rising studios in May, With
producer Warren Ryker (Down, Crowbar,...... ) to record their Eighth full length album.

Tentatively titled 'The Garden of unearthly delights' the album marks the bandS debut release for new home, Nuclear Blast.

When asked to comment, vocalist Lee Dorrian had this to say; "We're are really excited about the new material, it's a lot heavier and slightly more unusual than our last album. It will be an album of two halfs, shall we say; though I'm not really going to give much more away than that, at this stage".

After a career lasting over 15 years, the band have seen many trends come and go, yet have continued forge ahead with their own interpretation of classic Metal/Rock/ with dark Psychedelic/Progressive leanings, seemingly non phased by the ever changing face of modern metal.

Song titles set for inclusion include; 'Tree of life & death', 'Upon Azraels Wings', 'Corpsecycle' & 'Oro The Manslayer'.

'The Garden Of Unearthly Delights' will once again feature the epic artwork of long standing Cathedral sleeve artist, Dave Patchett. The album is scheduled for an Autumn release.

The limited-edition digipack version of the new CATHEDRAL CD, "The Garden of Unearthly Delights", will reportedly include a CD shaped as an apple. Not only that, but heat built up during playback and rubbing of the label side of the CD will also reveal a green apple scent.

Nuclear Blast Records, long known for their special packages and special promotions, has started to use Sony's Sniffle Disc technology. According to www.sonydadc.com (http://www.sonydadc.com), the aroma can be placed on all parts of the label-print and is released by rubbing the label. A Sniffle Disc will last for approximately one year and is available for CD-Audio and CD-ROM. It can also be combined with other Sony DADC Specials. Flower scents like rose or jasmine can be used to underline romantic themes or fruit scents like peach used for your Summer Hit Compilation. Whatever you choose, the Sniffle Disc will make your CD stand out from the crowd.

The new CATHEDRAL CD, which is scheduled to be issued in the U.S. in January 2006, appears to be the first major heavy metal release to feature this special technology.
